You all know I love target for their deals. During my lunch break I snuck in to get some more items and it was fun. Usually when I have a good coupon I want to use it before it expires. The one thing I will complain about is target coupons sometimes they don't scan correctly. Sometimes I will go to another store and buy the same items and use the same coupon and it won't work. Then I will go to another store and the coupon will work but another won't work. It is totally hit or miss.
Supplies Haul
2 Avery Durable Binders 1 inch
1 10 ct. Crayola Markers
1 64 ct. Crayola Crayons
1 24 ct. Crayola Twistables
3 1 ct. Post-Its
2 Greeting Cards
2 Papermate Pen Packs
2 Mead Portfolios
1 Skinny Cow Clusters 6 ct.
2 Snicker's Minis

As usual a quick trip and I was able to continue building my stock pile but not really since I tend to use most of the products I buy. I will take a mini break from couponing since I am very content with what I have and I am quickly running out of space.

Target Trip Spent on Groceries and Back to School
Target is such a great store they have so much variety and I love that there are Target coupons that can be combined with manufacturer's coupons. and don't get me started with their new cartwheel feature! it is the best! My issue with couponing is that it is really based on luck too! Sometimes there are cashiers that look at you sideways and think you are trying to get away with murder. Also, I realized that couponing takes so much planning. This time I was going to do two transactions and I brought my partner in crime with me. She handled the other cart. One of my carts was filled with groceries and it has to be $40 total in order to get $10 off and the other cart has to have $50 worth of merchandise to get a $5 gift card. I went to target with my lists and coupons. When you get to the store it is such an adventure. You are shopping and that is my favorite part. I have also learned to keep my cart organized since it makes the check out much easier.
Below are a few pictures of my hauls! It was so long ago that I can tell you what I spent but not the total retail value. But I definitely saved over 50% on these items!

First day of the week couponing fun!
Dear Fellow Couponers,
I began couponing early this week, because I had a few coupons expiring on 7/31/13. I did make a few rookie mistakes. For example, forgetting that Walgreens also has separate in-store coupons, forgetting to use my Walgreens reward $5, and forgetting that an in-ad coupon was needed for a deal. Also, at CVS I am realizing that the retail value to get extra bucks rewards is before coupons. Although I made these rookie mistakes I still saved a ton of money. Below is my list of what I bought:
Total Paid + Tax: $99
Savings Value: 57%
Above is a picture of my small stockpile. Unfortunately my storage closet is full now so I had to bring it to my bookshelf.

Couponing Day #1
After watching many episodes of extreme couponing on TLC, I realized that saving money by using coupons was a great way to shop. I was not looking to buy a 100+ sports drinks, but I was interested in getting some of my monthly essentials for a bargain. In the past I never thought about using coupons, I would go into a Target store and buy body wash, shampoo, toothpaste and snacks without thinking about the price. At the end of my shopping trip I would usually spend $100 for very few products. My first experience couponing was entertaining but it was also met with some resistance from a condescending cashier that almost turned me off to couponing all together.
This is how it began. Before my camping trip with my family, I went to the store to buy a newspaper. I had forgotten that it was only Thursday and that only Sunday papers have coupons. I left the store empty handed, but as I was driving home I noticed a bag full of newspapers by the side of the road. I decided to pick them up. When I got home I opened the bag and started separating the inserts. It felt like couponing was meant to be! Then I began to separate my coupons, and of course I wasn't able to finish because we had to hit the road for camping.
We went camping for 3 nights and 4 days. The entire time I was looking forward to getting home and finishing couponing.
When I got home on Sunday I finished clipping my coupons and I was exhausted!! Also, I went and bought 5 papers $3 each for new sales. I was disappointed because they only had one insert and they were all the same. On Monday when I got home I began to plan out my shopping trip. The stores I was going to go to were Target and Walgreens.

Couponing #2
Hello Again,
Another shopping trip this was one was planned but there were a few things that went wrong. Overall it was super fun.
CVS
Shopping at CVS is great because of their reward card and relaxed coupon policy. I learned from my experience at Walgreens with a non-friendly cashier that I had to be more organized and have all the coupons sorted out. The one thing that went wrong was that I wanted to buy more herbal essences, but it was completely sold out and the price would have been a great deal.
4 Dawn soaps sale 97 cents (used 25 cent off manufacturer coupon)
2 Febreeze sale for $2.99 each (used 3.00 off coupon)
2 Clinical Strength Secret Deoderant buy one 9.99 get one 1/2 off (used $5.00 off coupon)
2 Covergirl Lipsticks sale buy one get one 1/2 off (used 4.00 off coupon)
PS: I will get better at taking pictures I just get so excited and forget
